Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Manga Downloader (the “Service”) handles information when you use the app.

1. Summary

The Service is designed to run as a local or self-hosted tool. We do not operate a central account system, and the core download workflow does not require you to create a user profile with us.

2. Information stored on your device

Depending on how you run the app, the following may be stored locally:

If you only use a static front-end build without a backend, no download library is created on a remote server by this project’s default code.

3. Information we do not intentionally collect

4. Network requests to third parties

When you paste a manga URL and fetch or download, the backend (or your browser, depending on configuration) contacts third-party sites you specified (for example MangaDex, Webtoons, or Madara-theme sites). Those sites receive standard HTTP request data (IP address, user-agent, referer, URL path) under their privacy policies — not ours.

5. Hosted / public deployments

If someone deploys this software on a public server or domain, the operator of that instance is responsible for:

Default application code does not add analytics SDKs. Hosting platforms may still collect operational metrics (requests, bandwidth) under the host’s policy.

6. Cookies

The default UI relies mainly on localStorage, not tracking cookies. Your host or reverse proxy might set technical cookies; check their documentation.

7. Data retention

Local files remain until you delete them. In-memory job state is discarded when the server process restarts. Browser localStorage persists until you clear site data.

8. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). Do not use it if you are under the applicable age.

9. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when a revision is published.

10. Contact

For privacy questions about a particular deployment, contact the operator of that instance (the person or organization behind the domain you are using).
